- 4 large potatoes (boiled and mashed)
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp chopped dill or parsley
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 400 g minced beef (or beef + pork mix)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- ½ tsp paprika (optional)
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella or cheese mix
- A little sour cream or mayonnaise (optional, for extra creaminess)
- Prepare the mashed potato base:
- In a bowl, mix the mashed potatoes with butter, egg, dill, salt, and pepper.
- Form round flat disks (like shown in the picture) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Make the meatballs:
- Combine minced meat, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Shape into medium-sized balls and place one on top of each potato disk.
- Top and bake:
- Add a spoon of sour cream or mayonnaise over each one (optional).
- Sprinkle cheese on top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for about 30–35 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
- Serve:
- Let cool slightly, then serve warm with a fresh salad or vegetables.
