🥔✨ Cauliflower Patties (Crispy & Delicious)
Ingredients
- 1 medium cauliflower (cut into florets)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1–2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
- 1 egg
- 3–4 tbsp breadcrumbs (plus extra for coating)
- 2–3 tbsp grated cheese (optional)
- 1–2 tbsp chopped parsley
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- ½ tsp paprika or chili flakes (optional)
- Oil for pan-frying or brushing if baking
Instructions
1. Cook the Cauliflower
- Boil or steam cauliflower until very soft.
- Drain well to remove excess water.
- Mash it with a potato masher (as shown in the picture).
2. Prepare the Mixture
- Add to the mashed cauliflower:
✔ chopped onion
✔ garlic
✔ egg
✔ breadcrumbs
✔ herbs & spices
✔ cheese (optional) - Mix until it holds together.
If too soft, add more breadcrumbs.
3. Shape the Patties
- Form round patties.
- Coat lightly with breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
4. Cook
Option A – Pan Fry
- Heat a little oil in a pan.
- Fry patties on medium heat 3–4 minutes per side, until golden.
Option B – Bake
- Preheat oven to 200°C.
- Brush patties with a little oil.
- Bake 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.
Serve With
The sauce in the picture looks like a spicy mayo:
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp ketchup
- ½ tsp paprika or chili sauce
