Crispy Spiced Oven Fries Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika (sweet or smoked)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp dried thyme or oregano (optional)
  • Chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep potatoes: Peel (optional) and cut into thin sticks.
  2. Soak (optional but recommended): Soak in cold water for 20–30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat very dry.
  3. Season: In a bowl, toss potatoes with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and herbs.
  4. Bake: Spread in a single layer on a lined baking tray.
    • Bake at 220°C / 425°F for 35–45 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  5. Finish: Sprinkle with chopped parsley and extra salt if needed. Serve hot.

Tips for extra crispiness

  • Don’t overcrowd the tray.
  • Use convection/fan mode if available.
  • Add a pinch of cornstarch before baking for ultra-crisp fries.
