Crispy Piped Potato Fries – Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 large potatoes
- 2 tbsp cornstarch (or flour)
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- Oil for frying
- Parsley or paprika for topping (optional)
Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the potatoes
- Peel and cut potatoes into pieces.
- Boil until very soft.
- Drain completely and mash until smooth (no lumps).
2️⃣ Prepare the mixture
Add to the mashed potatoes:
- Egg
- Cornstarch
- Melted butter
- Salt, pepper, garlic powder
Mix until you get a smooth, thick, pipe-able dough.
3️⃣ Pipe the fries
- Transfer the mixture to a piping bag with a star nozzle.
- Pipe long strips onto a cutting board or baking paper.
- Cut them into fry-length pieces.

4️⃣ Fry
- Heat oil to 170–180°C.
- Deep fry the piped potato sticks until golden and crispy.
- Remove and place on paper towels.
5️⃣ Serve
Sprinkle with:
- Parsley
- Paprika
- Grated cheese
- Or serve with ketchup, mayo, garlic sauce, or cheese dip.
🍟 Tips for Perfect Texture
- Make sure the potatoes are well-drained to avoid a wet dough.
- Cornstarch gives extra crispiness.
- You can also bake them at 200°C for 20–25 minutes (brush with oil).
