Crispy Honey Puffed Rice Squares (No-Bake)

Ingredients

  • 4 cups puffed rice (or Rice Krispies)
  • ¾ cup honey
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla (optional)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds (optional, traditional flavor)

✅ Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tray
    • Line a baking pan with baking paper.
    • Lightly grease it with oil or butter.
  2. Make the Honey Syrup
    • In a pot on medium heat, melt:
      • Butter
      • Sugar
      • Honey
    • Stir constantly until bubbling and golden caramel color appears (about 5–7 minutes).
    • Add vanilla + salt at the end.
  3. Mix with Rice
    • Remove from heat.
    • Immediately stir in the puffed rice and sesame seeds.
    • Mix fast until fully coated.
  4. Shape
    • Press the hot mixture firmly into the tray using a spoon or oiled hands.
  5. Cool & Cut
    • Let cool for 30–40 minutes.
    • Cut into small cubes or squares.

✅ Tips for Perfect Texture

  • For chewier squares → cook syrup less
  • For hard crunchy squares → cook syrup darker
  • To prevent sticking → grease knife before cutting

✅ Optional Flavor Variations

  • Add crushed peanuts or almonds
  • Add cinnamon
  • Drizzle with melted chocolate
  • Add orange zest for aroma
