Ingredients
- 4 cups puffed rice (or Rice Krispies)
- ¾ cup honey
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup butter
- 1 tsp vanilla (optional)
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds (optional, traditional flavor)
✅ Instructions
- Prepare the Tray
- Line a baking pan with baking paper.
- Lightly grease it with oil or butter.
- Make the Honey Syrup
- In a pot on medium heat, melt:
- Butter
- Sugar
- Honey
- Stir constantly until bubbling and golden caramel color appears (about 5–7 minutes).
- Add vanilla + salt at the end.
- In a pot on medium heat, melt:
- Mix with Rice
- Remove from heat.
- Immediately stir in the puffed rice and sesame seeds.
- Mix fast until fully coated.
- Shape
- Press the hot mixture firmly into the tray using a spoon or oiled hands.
- Cool & Cut
- Let cool for 30–40 minutes.
- Cut into small cubes or squares.
✅ Tips for Perfect Texture
- For chewier squares → cook syrup less
- For hard crunchy squares → cook syrup darker
- To prevent sticking → grease knife before cutting
