Cheesy Veggie Toast (Pizza-Style Toast)

Ingredients (2 servings)

  • 4 slices sandwich bread
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small red chili or red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tbsp ketchup or pizza sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: chili flakes, olives, sweetcorn

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) or heat a pan on low.
  2. Lightly butter one side of each bread slice.
  3. Spread ketchup or pizza sauce on the other side.
  4. Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  5. Add onion, green pepper, and chili slices.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano.
  7. Add more cheese on top.

Cooking options:

  • Oven: Bake 8–12 minutes until cheese melts and edges turn golden.
  • Pan: Cover and cook on low heat 5–7 minutes.
  • Air fryer: 180°C for 5–6 minutes.
