INTRODUCTION
These homemade dumplings are a delightful blend of savory meat, sweet corn, and aromatic green onions, all wrapped in a tender, steamed dough. Perfect as an appetizer or a satisfying meal, they are packed with flavors that will leave you craving more!
INGREDIENTS:
- For the filling:
- 200g ground pork or beef
- 1 cup corn kernels (fresh or frozen)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon ginger, finely grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 green onions, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- For the dumpling wrappers:
- 300g dumpling wrappers (store-bought or homemade)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, corn, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and green onions. Season with salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Assemble the dumplings: Lay out a dumpling wrapper on a clean, flat surface. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the filling into the center of the wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper with a little water and fold it in half, pinching the edges to seal. Crimp the edges to form a pleated shape.
- Steam the dumplings: Set up a bamboo steamer or a steam rack in a pot of boiling water. Place the dumplings on the steamer basket, ensuring they are not touching each other. Cover and steam for 10-12 minutes or until the wrappers become translucent and the filling is cooked through.
- Serve: Remove the dumplings from the steamer and serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
